Martha Shepp

Pianist

Martha C. Shepp has been playing piano since the age of six. Concurrent with obtaining her BFA and MFA degrees at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and University of Tennessee, she studied with Ms. Grace Trebert (Eastman School of Music); Alan Crooks (Trent Polytechnic University in England); and Dr. David Northington (University of Tennessee). Chamber music that becomes interdisciplinary performance drawing upon theatre, dance, visual art, and film is her specialty, with spirited works from any genre and time frame as launching points. She directs the Questa Chamber Music Series as part of the non-profit Questa Creative Council, of which she is a founding member. She is currently employed as the accompanist for Taos Community Chorus, and performs regularly with cellist Mark Dudrow. Her repertoire includes much of the standard piano literature, with special interest in Ravel, Villa-Lobos, Messiaen, and Granados.
